his work as a perfumer has taken egon oelkers to cannes, new york, geneva, paris and hamburg, but he has primarily been formed by his journeys to asia. here he has encountered the sophisticated spices, fruit scents and rare woods that in a subtle way are to be found again in many of his fragrances. his compositions are notable for their discreet luxury and fine balance of fragrances. egon oelkers commenced training as a perfumer with the long-established haarmann & reimer company in holzminden in 1967 and has since achieved renown not simply with his creations, but through a parallel dedication to training new generations of perfumers.
